A little history about Tex's NASCAR Pool:
My name is Tex Chalinor. I live 120
miles
northwest of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, just outside a hamlet called Hepworth. I
started a NASCAR pool 10 years ago in our area. I had 42 entries the first year.
In 2007, in my 9th year for the pool, I had 780 entries. All these years
whatever money was brought in to the pool, went back out in prize money.
Starting in 2003, $1.00 off of all entries was set aside for the cost of paper,
ink, mailing, etc. I have been supported by companies such as Goodyear,
Budweiser, Hobart, Diecast Plus, Owen Sound Ledgerock, NAPA/Ideal Supply, K.C.
Automotive, Noble Truck Bodies, Cool Signs & Murals, and Cindys Variety in the
form of donated items for draw prizes.
In 2005, I took $1.00 off the top
of every
entry fee to send it to Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, North Carolina.
With your help, the last 3 years, we raised over $6400.00 for different
charities. I know it is not a lot but I am sure we have made a few kids happy
again. We are looking to do the same in 2008, with most of the profits going to
Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce. I am positive we can raise the same, if not
more for Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce. Be sure to check out their websites by
